About Police Scotland Youth Volunteers

The training contains multiple subjects across three units.

About the programme
Operational PSYV Training

This training and subsequent local ‘sessions’ take place at a local venue on a weekly or fortnightly basis. During these sessions, youth volunteers will take part in additional training, educational inputs from the police and partner agencies as well as preparing for upcoming volunteering opportunities.

To become a Youth Volunteer, you must be aged between 13 and 15 and be able to dedicate a minimum of three hours per month for volunteering events. As the programme is oversubscribed across Scotland, you must ensure you are able to attend your local group sessions and be available for volunteering opportunities on a regular basis.

Click here to complete an ‘Initial Interest’ form which will be sent to your local group coordinator. If your local group are recruiting, your local coordinator will be in touch to discuss the recruitment process. Please note that not all groups are actively recruiting and spaces are limited in all groups due to the popularity of the programme.
