About Walking Netball

Our walking netball group has been running since September 2021 on Wednesday mornings from 11 to 12 noon in our sports hall.

The group was supported in the early days by Clacks Council Sports Council but now runs under the umbrella and support of Stirling Netball Club. One of our own players, Elise Young, recently completed Scottish Netball’s Level 1 approved training course and now coaches the sessions.

Anyone can pop along on a Wednesday morning and try it out. It’s a great activity to improve your coordination with warm-up games like the “Golden Child” and “Cut the Cabbage”. We play short games during the session where each individual gets to try out different positions from Centre to Wing Attack or Goal Attacker or Defender. You don’t need to have experience in playing netball before, everyone is welcome to come along and join this very social group – a great way to make friends as well as have fun and exercise.

Our café is open from 11 am on Wednesday and many of the players stay on for a cuppa, blether or a plate of homemade soup afterwards.
