Young Ambassador TCDT Promotion
Another of our young ambassadors, Connor, has made this brilliant video to promote TCDT:
Youth Philanthropy Initiative Scotland
Our Youth Ambassador Sam Grivell represented TCDT in the final of the Youth Philanthropy Initiative at Lornshill Academy to win £3000 to help us with setup costs when we start managing the Civic Centre. Unfortunately we were not chosen by the judges, but Sam’s excellent presentation raised our profile with young people and parents at Lornshill.
Membership Update
We now have just over 600 Members – fantastic!!

Latest News Update
We had a very positive meeting with Stuart Crickmar and Councillor Helen Lewis with Julie McGrath of CTSI.
The proposal from the Council for the Civic Centre is due to two drivers – budget cuts, and the Community Empowerment Bill.
The Council intend to save money on no staffing or property costs for the Centre from 30th September 2018
They are “decommissioning” the leisure side of the Civic Centre, meaning the library and all the functions already available there, internet access, web4U etc will continue until this is transferred into the new school, due August 2019.
The Heritage centre will also remain as is, with the hope that it will become part of the CAT request for all of the building at a date in the near future.
We discussed what a lease or interim management would mean for us. Stuart suggested that rather than a lease which could involve legal and property responsibilities they were considering offering us an “Occupancy Agreement”. The details of this have still to be confirmed.

Community Asset Transfer
Tullibody Community Development Trust submitted it’s Expression of Interest for the Civic Centre including Car Park, surrounding Parkland and Swing Park to the Council on 15th August 2017.
